ASUSTOR LOCKERSTOR 10 Pro (AS7110T) review

Earlier ten-bay desktop NAS with one built-in 10-GbE and three 2.5-GbE ports, two separate M.2 cache slots, and a possible owner-created two-drive SATA RAID 1 plan.

A useful fit for

An advanced office or small-business buyer who genuinely needs ten native SATA trays, values the documented ECC-memory platform, and can make an earlier discontinued model work with a verified exact drive, condition, seller and support plan.

The main tradeoff

The AS7110T is discontinued, so a current-reference model may be a safer shortlist starting point. It has one 10-GbE port rather than the AS6510T's two 10-GbE ports; its M.2 sockets are separate cache positions, not extra SATA trays or a verified data-volume path; exact drive and memory compatibility and seller package remain to be checked.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is the discontinued AS7110T still worth considering?

Only when the exact unit's condition, installed drives, seller return terms and support/warranty path can be verified. ASUSTOR's status row calls the model Discontinued while listing software and technical support as Supported; neither status establishes a current seller offer, remaining warranty or transferability to a used unit. Treat it as an earlier reference profile, not a current retail recommendation by default.

Can the two M.2 sockets form my required mirror?

The reviewed model materials describe the two M.2 sockets as SSD-cache positions, separate from the ten SATA trays, and the installation guide warns against mixing NVMe and SATA AHCI modules in the pair. A documented two-drive RAID 1 path can instead be built by the owner from two compatible SATA drives in two trays, leaving eight SATA bays open; the package lists no drives or configured volume. Keep a separate backup.

Does one 10-GbE port plus three 2.5-GbE ports create a faster single link?

No. The exact datasheet rates the individual built-in connectors at one 10 Gbps and three 2.5 Gbps; adding their labels is not a single-client link speed or a measured transfer result. If ten SATA bays, a 10-Gbps individual port and a possible two-drive mirror are all essential, this earlier model meets those documented floors in one supported setup; verify the client, switch or direct path, cable, drives and seller package separately.

Documentation-based assessment, not a hands-on review: ASUSTOR's exact English product record identifies LOCKERSTOR 10 Pro as AS7110T, product ID 65. The status table marks it discontinued while software and technical support remain “Supported.” That does not establish stock, a used unit's condition or seller warranty. The observed Home/SOHO row is the U.S.-scope lead; no distinct U.S. seller suffix or offer was verified. Ten SATA trays, with two separate M.2 sockets

The specification separates ten internal SATA 6-Gb/s positions from two M.2 sockets. The trays accept 3.5- or 2.5-inch SATA HDDs and SSDs; the M.2 sockets are described for cache and support 2280, 2260 or 2242 modules. They do not make twelve SATA trays. Check the complete drive model and firmware against ASUSTOR's list; no exact drive tuple or maximum usable volume capacity was established here. [Exact-model datasheet](https://www.asustor.com/materials/datasheet/Datasheet_AS7110T_ENG.pdf) · [AS71XXT installation guide](https://downloadgb.asustor.com/download/docs/QIG/AS71XXT/ASUSTOR_AS71XXT_QIG_ENU_341126.pdf)

The M.2 sockets are not an evidence-backed data-volume or mirror plan. The QIG warns that mixing NVMe and SATA-AHCI modules in the pair prevents boot, and recommends the same model when using two modules. Check compatibility separately rather than treating cache positions as bays or an assumed mirror.

A ten-bay mirror is possible, but not preinstalled

ASUSTOR lists RAID 1. A buyer could choose two compatible SATA drives and create a volume during setup, using two of ten bays and leaving eight open. The QIG's reference package lists cables, screws and a power cord, but no data drives or initialized volume. Retailer additions and used-unit contents remain unknown; verify the actual box and drive health before purchase or migration.

RAID 1 may keep an array available after one drive fails, but it does not protect against deletion, malware, theft or a second failure during recovery. Keep a separate tested backup. The QIG warns that initialization erases installed-disk data, so preserve it before setup. This is a possible owner-created arrangement, not a shipped mirror.

One 10-GbE port, not a summed network rate

The rear panel has one 10GBASE-T port and three 2.5GBASE-T ports. The fastest built-in connector is 10 GbE; the ports do not combine into a guaranteed faster single-client rate. A link rating is not a transfer benchmark. Check the client NIC, switch or direct link, cable, array and workload end to end.

Against the same-bay LOCKERSTOR 10 (AS6510T), ASUSTOR's 2025 comparison lists a Xeon E-2224 and ECC memory here, but only one 10-GbE port; the AS6510T uses an Atom C3538 and non-ECC memory, with two 10-GbE ports. Workload and port topology matter more than the “Pro” name. Compare the [AS6510T assessment](/reviews/asustor-as6510t/). Memory ceiling and older-model caveats

The current spec and 2025 comparison list 8 GB of ECC DDR4, two SO-DIMM slots and a 64-GB ceiling. The older exact-model brochure instead says 32 GB; the applicable series guide agrees with 64 GB. The conflict remains explicit. Confirm a compatible module before purchase; none was tested. The four-core Xeon E-2224 is listed at 3.4 GHz base and up to 4.6 GHz boost, not as a workload benchmark.

The sheet gives a 350-W PSU and manufacturer reference consumption of 78.7 W operating, 40.1 W in disk hibernation and 5.8 W in S3 sleep; these are not independent measurements or a drive-specific forecast. Dimensions are 215.5 x 293 x 230 mm (H x W x D), weight 7.1 kg. Allow for clearance and airflow; the tower has one PSU, not a redundant pair.

Who should keep it on the shortlist?

The AS7110T can suit a plan needing ten SATA trays, ECC memory and one 10-GbE path if the buyer verifies exact identity, condition, drives, return rights and support. Its discontinued status makes seller diligence essential. ASUSTOR also lists a five-year warranty duration, but that does not prove remaining or transferable coverage. No price, stock, U.S. seller package, drive bundle, marketplace identity or buyer experience is asserted.

Bottom line: the AS7110T combines ten SATA trays, separate cache-oriented M.2 sockets and one 10-GbE jack. A two-drive RAID 1 is buyer-built, not shipped, and leaves eight bays open; a separate backup and exact drive checks remain essential. Keep this earlier candidate only if the specific unit and seller terms withstand scrutiny.
