Needs-based finder

Find a NAS for your space, storage and network

Start with where you expect to place the enclosure, the minimum number of built-in drive positions you need, and the rating of one Ethernet port along your network path. Only documented desk/shelf or rack forms enter those placement shortlists; leaving placement open keeps unknown and special mounting styles available. Exact bay and port numbers, two-drive redundancy, and earlier-model inclusion are available in the optional step.

These matches filter documented facts for each exact profile; they do not prove cabinet fit, a compatible drive set, or measured transfer speed. Leave any uncertain requirement open.

Your everyday needs

Start with where and how you will use it. Choose the features you need, and leave a choice open when it is not essential.

Choose a placement only when it is settled. Desk/shelf matches require an explicit desktop, tower, set-top or compact-desktop form-factor description; rack matches require explicit rackmount or rack-installation evidence. Unknown and special mounts are not inferred as either. A rack match does not establish cabinet fit: check exact height, depth, rails, load, ventilation and clearance in the model assessment.

These are minimums, not capacity estimates. The count uses documented built-in drive positions, not external shelves, cache sockets or total usable storage. Use the optional exact-count field for another minimum. Installed drives, compatible drive models and storage layout remain separate checks.
